We each get a rant and we each get a rave of something that happened this week, either in something we saw, something we did, something we read, something that happened to us, kind of what's going on in our world. I think it's a fun little quick check-in, and then we'll get to our fancast.

Okay. Um, so I will rant and then kind of have a beverage because we're already gonna meet my drinking game requirement for the episode. My rant is about Ryan Murphy's 911. And the other episode, besides the pit that I am missing, literally right now, we're eight minutes in to film this episode. So you're welcome, fan. Not me being like tail between my legs. It's not a finale, it's not even a two-parter. It's not like nothing dramatic is happening. But my precious little baby butterfly, Buck, is in danger. Oliver Stark. Oliver Stark. Or Renelm. Um Buck is in danger. Buck is in peril, and my little baby Buck has been in peril so many times.

By a psycho lady who thought he was her dead, but also not dead. Like, definitely found out he was not dead halfway through the episode. Thought he was her son, kidnapped her in his house. And then the next episode, Eddie was like, you know, you should really go to therapy because you got kidnapped by a psycho person. He was like, nah, I'm good. And then he's like getting addicted to pills. Like he's getting, he's developing an addiction. And this is doubly sad. I'm gonna try and make this quick because their former captain, Captain Bobby Nash, spoilers for number one, if you don't watch it, who died at the end of last season or the season before very traumatically and was very much like a surrogate dad to Buck, was a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. And like, so this is kind I don't want to say a betrayal, but like it's really like my baby boy Buck is he's in peril, and I have to go see if he's okay. Um about it. And if they just let him have a happy life, the man has had a fire truck fall on his leg. He's been struck by lightning, he has been, was he shot? No, he wasn't shot. Eddie was shot. This is it's a good show, Loretta.

No, it's a good one. A little treat before. Yeah. A little treat. Okay, and then I get a rave? You get a rave. Okay, my rave, for those of you who don't know, which you should know, Loretta and I are both recovering theater majors, and I still work in theater in the performing arts, and so I see a lot of theater, and I was very lucky to see the first Broadway national tour of Spam a lot the last night here in LA. And here's the thing I used to be obsessed with Spam a lot. I was so obsessed. I sang find your grail any chance I got. And it's so good. It's so good. But now, like a solid decade and a half has passed since that obsession, and I was like, is this gonna age well? Like, is it gonna still be good? Holy shit, it was so good. The cast is amazing. We should definitely go see it. I'll see if I can get us another pair of tickets. It's the Lady of the Lake is probably one of the most talented people I've ever seen in my life. The guy who plays Lancelot also does like all the character bits. So he's the French guy on the wall. He's the night to say knee. Um, and I was with my friend Megan, who works at the Pantages. So she had seen part of it the night prior, and she kept leaning over and being like, that was completely different yesterday, because they're like improving bits of it. It's so good. And I love that they didn't, they didn't change anything. So the song that's like you won't succeed on Broadway if you don't have any Jews, still there. That's why I was like, I don't know how this is gonna go over. But they improvised like little bits that were more timely, like when the Knights of Knee walks off stage, he said something about like being stuck in the whatever that canal is that's stuck right now. Like, so they'll like throw in like little topical Lady of the Lake did the alphabet work like that on crowd. This is a random belt that she did. Fucking phenomenal. If you have a chance to see it, I think it's in LA for quite a while. The song that goes like this is like one of the funniest things in the world. Whatever happened to my part is amazing. You want Katrina Broadway if you don't have any Jews, it's fantastic. Wait, I forgot about whatever happened to my part. If you don't know the musical, Lady the Lake is very prominent in Act One. She's also the only female speaking part in the show, um, which is I actually don't hate because she does it so good. And like there's a bunch of uh female background actors, and I that's not the point we're making right now. But she goes away for a little bit. They're like off doing things, and the actor storms on stage, or in this case, she like paws her way out of the curtain and like stumbles on stage, and the whole song is like, Why am I not in this act? Yeah, where did I go? Where did I go? Where did my character go?

And I'm just really having a hard time to the point where I might switch to a hard copy. I'm getting really frustrated with the audiobook narrator.

I will actually mildly agree with you that I spent the whole chunk of the book where they're in Deadwell Village, and everybody's like, Slave, you have to go. Like your kingdom is crumbling to the ground. He's like, but Arn is sad that she's Sarah and she has trauma. And figure it out. Like, put her on the back of you little bird wolf and get her out of there. Really? You have to go. You cannot hide out. And bigger things are happening right now, Arin. I understand you murdered a bunch of people, and that probably takes a lot out of you. But like that's what I'm talking about. Is like I am I actually agree.

I hit I think I am 73% through on the audiobook. Okay. And she is still being like, and then it was horrible. And it was like, we fucking get it.

Like I you were not this upset about what happened to you with Captain Fane. At first, I really enjoyed this series because it would do her POV, his POV, same scene. And it was cool. I get perspective. Now I'm like, you are wasting my fucking time. Like I already know what happened. Now we're just reliving the scene. This is why this is my rant, is because I really like Raven Kennedy.

You should listen to the book at the pace that it was performed at to get the most out of it. And I'm like, let's just get through this shit because I cannot listen to her go, I grabbed the ever again. Sorry. And that's my rant.

I did I did find myself a couple times in the book doing the like, Kim, there are people who are dying. Like, you gotta go. Like get up. That's exactly how I feel. Yeah. That's exactly how I feel. And then everybody has to be so like cautious and like no one tells Slade that he's being an idiot for like abandoning his entire fucking kingdom for Arn. Like, either you have to leave Aaron here and go deal with it, or you gotta pick her up and go. Like her up. Someone is taking your kingdom. What are you doing? Like, go fix it. Like I'm in charge of a lot of people and responsible for their lives.

And Arun's a fucking bitch to Slade this entire time. Like he's so patient with her, and I shouldn't be because she's rude. Okay. And more on that next week. Okay. And your rave. And my rave, okay. My rave is a happy sad. Okay. But it's still a rave overall. My rave is specifically towards the whimsy gossip casting team and director Max of their upcoming Front of Glass film, Where is My Wife? They did an audition process. I put in a tape after not acting and auditioning in five years. I got a callback. This will be out now. Everybody will know things. So I got a callback. It was lovely. I was so nervous. I put it all out on the line. I had such a lovely experience with Max and with Michelle, the casting director. And they sent an email pretty quickly to let me know that they were going in a different direction and pursuing another candidate. I was real bummed. Broke my heart. But it's because I haven't done this in a long time and I forgot what that feels like. And I know that there's hundreds of other people who auditioned for this that didn't get the callback. And so I'm really grateful that I did. And that's my rave is that that experience was so wonderful that it's inspired me to keep trying for different things and to start cosplaying. Yay! And I'm gonna I'm gonna start doing some cosplays and working on my acting skills and trying to bring some characters to life. My first one will be Eleanor from Spark of the Everflame and Glow of the Everflame. She's got blue eyes and curly brown hair. Yeah, she will. I'm gonna go be her because I really like her.

I knew you in college when we were both theater majors, and that program was fucking rough for a lot of people. And I think it if I were you, it would have made me not want to act. And so I am so very proud of you for putting yourself out there and trying and like doing a thing that is scary and hard. And a lot of people think it's cringe to like try things, and it's not. You should try things, even if you're not good at like you are good at them. But like even if you don't know what you're doing or it's new and you're figuring it out, or you don't it doesn't work out perfectly the first time, like trying and putting yourself out there is like the majority of the hard work of that process. So literally I'm very proud of you. Thank you for revisiting that, and I hope that you continue to do it.

So this is Lou. Uh Lou also the wiki uh for this book series is very incomplete, and these characters don't have bios. So I did my best. Um, like Lou's not even on the wiki, like as a character. I know Hello. Somebody write it, please. Um crazy. My Lou is a member of the Wrath. She's warrior, she's a hella fighter. She's described as having short, shorn black hair with daggers shaved into the side, which is fucking sick.

My favorite things about Lou, which are I one of the things that I do like about the book, you're in is you get to know the wrath a little bit more. So I love that Lou is one of the first people that shows Arin that women can be fierce and strong and fight. Um, and I also love that she has giant fuzzy slippers. She wears them in Deadwell Village. Yes. That's I Dollar Village, sorry.

I have Tiana Taylor, recent uh uh Golden Globe winner, Oscar winner for one battle after the other. She's really only in 15 minutes of that movie. She she's uh a musician, she's an actress. She is a powerhouse of a human, just in general. Yeah. She don't take shit from nobody. She marches the beat of her own drum. They won Best Picture, and she walked right on up there and scooped up that Oscar. She shouldn't have been not her Oscar to hold, and she said, I don't give a fuck. Give me that. Love it. She had they showed pictures of them sitting in the front row, and Leo's like doing his thing over there, and she's like eating nachos out of box on her dress that looked like a dog. Like she, I there was I completely had someone else before watching the Oscars. I had, I'm literally blanking on her name right now. It's the actress from Orange is the New Black who played Pousset. Samira Wiley. Samira Wiley. There we go. I was like, not some more we thing. That is who I had originally.
